3d Animation

Animation is an illusion, illusion of life that had existed from the time immemorial but back then the illusionists lacked the art of storytelling.  But today things are very different. Technological advances have made 3D animations achievable with stunning visuals and fascinating stories to back them up. There are graphic design designers who are doing wonderful work from the comfort of their home on a laptop, thereby making the job of 3d animation more accessible to the freelancers. It is not restricted to the big animation studios anymore. Animators are in huge demand these days in the field of advertising, cinema, television, education, simulation for health and aviation, hi-end or mobile gaming etc, but even today the challenge is to make the animation more realistic and life-like and with each passing day, the graphic design designers are getting closer to creating that photorealistic human animation which will be indistinguishable from the reality.

It is often stated that if hyper-reality could be true then animators would be God. Animation challenges the mind & offers a medium which can be used to bring happiness & information to people of all age groups. It is often considered to be most fulfilling & purposeful activity which in many cases can interpret what a human mind can envision. The job of a animator is to fill you with wonder & awe by bringing out cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, Spiderman etc.

Computer animation, both 2D and 3D, is used extensively in several domains like engineering, medicine, entertainment etc. The arrival of hand held devices like iPhone or PSP has significantly impacted the gaming industry.  More and more freelance game designers are taking part in animation challenges, specifically the mobile animation challenge that are being held regularly world over. These challenges are a ton of fun and a great learning experience for all participants.
