Why Blog?

Blog

Blog

Blogging has become an art. Some of the best logo designers & other freelancers showcase & discuss their work related to design of logos through their personal blogs. But if you are new to the scene & have just arrived, then go through the post and believe me, by the time you finish reading it, you’ll have your answers.

It’s a Reflection of your Work – Most freelancers use blog to show off their designs to the world. It’s another place where prospective clients can find you and go through your work. It’s almost like having a professional website for a freelancer who has limited resource.

Networking and Marketing – Blogging allows you to build new relations with other freelancers around the world, and effectively market yourself by posting interesting tidbits about your daily work routine, designs etc.

Since we have already mentioned blogs as a marketing tool, it’s important to remember that ‘impelling blogging eschews the ornate’. Keep it Short and Simple. Clarity is an important criterion which in turn will attract all kinds of readers and potential clients to your blog.

Improve Your Content Writing Skills

Writing Skills

Writing Skills

Working on SEO based freelance projects on content writing can turn you into a sterile writer, lacking in originality & creativity. Writing content which is often repetitive can be dreadfully wearisome. You need to change things to get those creative juices flowing once again. You need to mix things up & motivate yourself but that’s easier said than done. To get out of this unproductive state of mind, first and foremost you must get out of your comfort zone. Ask for different types of topics that will give you a chance to learn something new. Writing on new topics will also give you the incentive to do well and be imaginative with your work. There are several freelancing projects available on the internet that promise to give you a chance to write on unusual topics and in widely different styles. Writing is a form of personal freedom & it doesn’t have to be a chore. It’s about having fun. You need to enjoy it and if you are not, then take a break. Recharge your writing muscles by flexing it in new ways and come back on with a new zing in your writing.

The Writer’s Block – Just beat it

Writer's Block

Writer's Block

It was a bright, sunny Thursday afternoon.  I can never forget it. I was living my dream working on my freelance projects, writing content for a website when it struck me. I had an empty page in front of me and I wasn’t able to fill it up with words. I had every aspect of my freelancing project organized in advance but as soon as I sat down to fill that clear white page, my mind suddenly went blank and that was not all.  I had a deadline to beat. I was under the dark spell of what is more commonly known as Writer’s Block or a Blank Page Syndrome.

But have no fear. I found my way out of this blinking cursor syndrome & so will you. Read on.

•    Nobody’s perfect – This is a fact so learn to live with it. Don’t burden yourself with your own expectations.

•    Take a walk or do some exercise – Go out and do something that is not related to writing. Physical activity of any kind will help you to de-stress yourself.

•    Read some book or listen to your favorite music – A well written book by your favorite author or a music piece will more often than not inspire you to get back to that blank page and fill it up.
